OTHER COLLECTIONS
The Archive holds further collections relating to persons closely linked with Manuel de Falla, such as the writer María Lejárraga de Martínez Sierra, the painter Pierre de Matheu, and the impresario Juan Gisbert.
MARÍA LEJÁRRAGA COLLECTION
María Lejárraga: writer and wife of Gregorio Martínez Sierra. She worked closely with Manuel de Falla on works such as El corregidor y la molinera and El sombrero de tres picos.
The Lejárraga collection consists of typed and manuscript material containing various writings of María Lejárraga, including novels, theatrical works, talks, poems and articles.
PIERRE DE MATHEU COLLECTION
Pierre de Matheu: painter born in El Salvador, based in Paris and later in Spain. Manuel de Falla’s cousin.
This collection, received as a donation, consists of photographs, correspondence, personal diaries, sketches and travel notebooks.
JUAN GISBERT COLLECTION
Juan Gisbert: Catalan impresario, friend of Manuel de Falla.
This collection was incorporated into the Archivo Manuel de Falla in 1992. Its importance lies in the extent of its documentation on Manuel de Falla.
