THE UNIVERSE OF MANUEL DE FALLA
Centro Cultural Manuel de Falla
(Paseo de los Mártires, Alhambra. 18009 Granada)
The aim of this exhibition is to bring the visitor face-to-face with the intimate reality of Falla’s existence, presenting a complete overview of the composer’s life and works through displays, sound recordings and even film footage. The exhibition comprises more than 140 documents, assembled from the holdings of the Archivo Manuel de Falla, the Casa-Museo Manuel de Falla and the Ayuntamiento de Granada, along with private contributions. Together, these documents allow the visitor to survey all the phases of Manuel de Falla’s life and work, and to explore the rich and complex personality of this key figure in one of the liveliest and most difficult periods in the history of modern art.
With the reopening of the Casa-Museo (Falla’s Granada home in the 1920s and 30s, now restored as a museum), it is anticipated that the institutions in Granada bearing the name of Manuel de Falla will join forces to create a complete itinerary based around the Centro Cultural and its gardens, embracing the Casa-Museo and this permanent exhibition.
